US giant Boeing will partner with India's state-run Hindustan Aeronautics and Mahindra Defence Systems to build F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jets in India, the companies said Friday. The deal comes after India said it would need 110 combat jets, worth about $15 billion, to bolster its defences. Boeing has offered to build the jets locally to comply with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Make-in-India" campaign, which aims to cut imports and build a domestic defence industry.
