Sitting on a wind-swept rocky slope in Nyahukwe, villagers listened to politicians from President Mnangagwa's ZANU-PF party in an atmosphere they said was noticeably more relaxed than under former ruler Robert Mugabe. No one is being beaten," Patrick Makonde, 59, who has voted in every election since independence from Britain in 1980, told AFP.
