Trump sends Pelosi letter promising to go ahead with State of the Union address after she suggests delaying it

Donald Trump says he is going to deliver the State of the Union later this month, whether Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi likes it or not. The president said as much in a letter to Ms Pelosi on Wednesday, thanking her for her initial invitation and claiming that the Department of Homeland Security had told him that it would be safe to go ahead with the State of the Union in spite of the ongoing partial government shutdown that has impacted the Secret Service budget.
