A climate change denier who once compared the “demonisation” of carbon dioxide to the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany is set to lead a White House panel assessing whether global warning poses a threat to US national security. Donald Trump’s administration is working to assemble a Presidential Committee on Climate Security headed by scientist William Happer, leaked documents have revealed.
